top 3 websites http://www.dailylit.com/ Read books online. Books are sent to your email (or iPhone) in installments set by you. Over 700 free books to choose from (there is a charge for others). Choose, subscribe and nominate when you’d like the installment sent to your inbox. http://www.retailmenot.com/ Is the worlds largest place to find coupons for online stores. Chose from 20,000 stores worldwide to get great savings. Stores include Telstra, Pumpkin Patch, Amazon etc. http://www.moviemistakes.com/ Search the large database on all movie mistakes that have been spotted. These include Star Wards, Charlies Angels, The Matrix. Looking for a truely portable computer Netbooks computers are gaining popularity Notebook computers are all over the place...not just limited to the workplace, they are now a requirement for many schools and they're also a good alternative to desktop computers as they use less power and can be moved around the house easily. However the smaller cousin of the Notebook is the NETBOOK computer. Ultra compact and ultra light...not able to take on everything that you might want to do on a notebook computer in terms of speed, however perfect for the sorts of things you might need a computer for while out and about...like word processing and email...larger than a smart phone so that you can use the keyboard with more than two fingers, but smaller than a NOTEBOOK which can still be a bit bulky. Generally they come with Windows XP or Linux as an operating system and some use a solid state hard drive...that's one with no moving parts and the screen size can be between 8 and 10 inches...the smallest Notebooks go down to around 12 inches. Models to look out for include DELL's Mini 9, the E PC from ASUS and Acer's Aspire One....all will set you back between 500 and 700 dollars. Top 3 Websites http://www.recessionblocker.com/ If you're sick of hearing about all the latest financial bad news...this website will black out words on websites that might remind you of the current tough financial situation.....try it on a website like news.com.au and you'll get a good result...although it does also tend to block out words in some stories that are not finance related. http://www.nowwearetalking.com.au/carbon A recent study has found that telecommunications could help reduce Australia's carbon emissions by almost 5% per year, or around 27 million carbon tonnes, by 2015.To support these findings, Telstra recently launched a new webpage where visitors can calculate how much carbon they could save by simply using technologies such as video conferencing, rather than flying or driving to meetings. For example, making a video call instead of driving 20kilometers to a meeting could save carbon emissions equivalent to watching 25 hours of Television.http://www.carbonite.com.au/ The Carbonite website is actually run by the people at AVG here in Australia...it's a new online backup service that makes backing up the contents of your computer really easy...and it's probably safer than just backing up to DVDs or a portable hard drive. The cost to use the service is around 6 dollars a month with no restriction on how much data you can backup. Google saves you from sending emails that you'll regret later I'm a big fan of many of the online tools that Google has come up with...but this one is absolutely hilarious, but perhaps useful. The question...how many emails have you ever send when you've perhaps had a few too many alcoholic beverages? ..and then...how many of those emails do you regret sending??? Well that's where "Mail Goggles", an add-on for Google's GMAIL service will come in handy.Basically it tests your state of mind by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click on SEND in an email...if you don't pass the test then your message won't be sent!By default, Mail Goggles is only active late night on the weekend as that is the time you're most likely to need it. Once enabled, you can adjust when it's active in the General settings. This is needed on every email program i reckon! If you use GMAIL for email you can use this right now, head to labs.google.com. Top 3 Websites http://www.moillusions.com http://kidbraingames.com http://www.hungover.net/ Also this week...What's new in the world of Mobile phones According to figures from Telstra, mobile customers aged 18-25 are getting right into "Caller Tones" with subscriber numbers jumping by 360 percent in the past year. Caller Tones replace the traditional ringing sound that people hear when they call you with a music track or sound effect and because it's just another way to personalise your mobile phone, Generation Y is getting right into it. Among the top of Caller tones at the moment are Gabriella Cilmi, Sweet about me and AC/DC, You shook me all night long...and there's around 3000 different ones you can choose from...get more info at bigpond.com/callertones Vodafone unlimited music downloads Vodafone has just launched a mobile phone music download service called 'Music Station' which is quite different from other music download stores... Basically it's for Vodafone customers who, for $2.75 a week can access unlimited music downloads from a catalogue of over 1 million songs. Of course you're limited to how many you can fit on your mobile handset...and when you stop subscribing you can't listen to the music anymore...so it's sort of like a rental service. Larger Storage for Mobile phones - Finally on the topic of storing things on your mobile phone SanDisk is this month releasing 16GB mobile memory cards - the world’s largest storage capacity for mobile phones. Many of the latest mobile phones have a slot for a tiny Micro SD or MemoryStick storage by using this you can start making the most of your phone with features like music and video playback, high-definition digital camera functions, gaming and GPS applications. The 16gig cards go on sale this month firstly at crazy johns...also check out www.wakeupyourphone.com. Back next week thanks to AVG Anti-Virus and Internet security.
