Spring Cleaning your computer

Now that we're a couple of weeky into Spring it's a good time to look at doing a bit of spring cleaning...but i'm not talking about cleaning our your sock drawer...I'm talking about Spring Cleaning your computer.

The purpose of cleaning up the content of your computer will serve two purposes....Firstly, sorting out or getting rid off all that clutter that comes in the form of things like unused programs, downloaded files, digital photos and emails will, i believe, make your computer experience more enjoyable as you won't always be sifting through files or looking for things.

Secondly, a big tidy up can also help your system run better by freeing up hard drive space and reducing the amount of programs that might start up when your computer does.

A good place to start is with the destop of your computer as I know plenty of people who are guilty of using this as a temporary dumping ground for files and it can become a mess...so DELETE what you don't need and then relocate anything you do want to keep to an appropriate folder.

As I briefly touched on, uninstalling programs that you don't use is also a good idea...just make sure you have the orignal install file or disk somewhere just in case you want to reinstall at a later date.

Now I reckon the email inbox is a great place to attack with your delete key...how many emails are you holding onto...why do you even need them all? When you load up your email program I believe that the first thing you should see is the messages that you need to respond to...everything else should either be deleted or moved to a seperate email folder so you don't have that visual clutter all the time.
